As a surfer, how much fun can you have in one stretch of beach?

Avellana has it all. A great stretch of beach breaks, a big right hand reef break, aptly named Little Hawaii, to the North, a river mouth with a reef that a-frames and a few scattered reef breaks to the South.

The punchy beach breaks have excellent shape but don’t hold much swell (just overhead is best) before they close out. The beach break produces the best waves at high tide.

The reefs at the Southern end of the beach also work best at high tide.

The river mouth and Little Hawaii to the North hold bigger swells (Little Hawaii doesn’t work until the swell is overhead) and works better at lower tides.

Take a bigger board for Little Hawaii. The wave looks like it will pitch and barrel at takeoff but usually it turns into a big, carvable wall. Regardless, you need paddle power to get in front of the mountain of water and it is easy to get caught high up on the lip, especially with the typically strong winds.
